Family House, a hospital hospitality house, provides low-cost lodging, meals and other supportive services for the families of patients receiving medical treatment and nursing care in Peoria, Illinois.
Family House offers a full range of conveniences designed to reduce day-to-day stresses so families can concentrate on helping their loved one.
Your home away from home
Our house — Our facilities include 20 resident
rooms each with adjoining private bathrooms, televisions and private
telephones. Each resident room has individual thermostats for comfort
control. Our house is handicap accessible including an elevator.
Community rooms — Our house has a parlor,
a multipurpose room and lounge areas (both inside and outside). These community rooms are a
great place to relax, meet other guests and share experiences.
Meals — Our two kitchens and large dining room
provide guests the opportunity to prepare meals and snacks to their own
liking and on their own time schedule.
Other services
Laundry — Dedicated laundry facilities are provided for our guests.
Internet access — Computers are available for guests' email needs.
Parking & transportation — Free parking is
available on-site. Transportation to and from the nearby medical centers is
also available.
Day services — Shower, laundry and kitchen
facilities are available for use by waiting room families.
Cost
As a non-profit organization, and through the generousity of our donors,
we strive to keep our costs low. Guest rooms are $39.00 per night.
Security
Family House is staffed 24 hours a day. Guests are provided key card
access to our house and resident rooms. So, even though you are away from home, you can feel safe at Family House.
